The Wild Women of Arkaroola PLUS exhibition

In late 2012, Joy decided it was time to get serious and take those willing, out to the desert she knows intimately and loves passionately to share what few see.  Wild Women of Arkaroola PLUS was forged there and we can all share in their vision

If you're in Sydney next week, come to Queen Street Gallery, 28 Queen Street Woollahra, sometime from 19 to 25 August 2014.
The gallery is open daily from 10 am to 4 pm with the exhibition opening on Thursday 21 August from 6 to 8.30 pm.

View over 80 paintings that demonstrate the different ways that artists see the outback arid lands of Australia, from gentle watercolour renditions of the Flinders Ranges through to large bold and free works on canvas that depict the outrageous colours and forms of the Australian desert.
Most of the artists in the Wild Women of Arkaroola PLUS are members of CCC and we're very proud of the strides they have made as creatives and hope it is a sellout show!

Thea Bourne 'Billabongs and Waterholes' exhibition

Thea Bourne, one of our exceptional artist is having an exhibition in Sydney.
The exhibition will be opened on Friday 15 August, 6 – 8 pm., at the Kuring-gai Art Centre, 3 Recreation Avenue, Roseville. The Gallery’s opening hours are Mon – Fri 11 am – 4.30 pm and Sat 11 am – 4 pm.
The exhibition will be on till 5 September 2014.  You and your friends are all very welcome.
‘Billabongs and Waterholes’ was conceived on a trip through the Flinders Ranges to Lake Eyre and Coopers Creek.  Although the mountains and rock formations were spectacular, it was the waterholes and billabongs which spoke to her Piscine soul.

This current body of works shows her love for the ever changing beauty of places where water and land interact.  The play of light on the water’s surface, the breeze distorting the reflections and the wildlife these places harbour are a delight and a rich source of inspiration. ‘Where there is Water there is Life’ underpins every image.
